Decorreu no passado fim de semana o San Diego Comic Con onde foram reveladas informações sobre Theros, FTV20, DD Heroes vs Monsters e os novos decks de commander.
Theros
* Greek mythology.
* Theros will be an enchantment based block that plays off themes in M14.
* M14 is likely to be the last prerelease without a meta gimmick, like guild packs or the Helvault.
* Theros is not just "enchantment matters". Gameplay needs to be part of the set. There´s a way to take enchantments and bring gods to "life".
* Another theme of Theros will be Heroes -- Magics take on classic mythological tropes.
* What is the mood and tone of Greek myth? Adventure, achievement, accomplishment. Heroes´ journey.
* Monsters are another theme. Heroes need something to fight. Awesome monsters.
* Krakens. Krakens were added because the film "Clash of the Titans" changed the public perception.
* If you like Minotaurs this set is for you. Minotaurs are the rampaging savages of Theros.
* No elves in Theros. Replaced by Satyrs and Centaurs.
* Many existing creature types will be getting reworked to match the Greek flavor.
* Polukranos, the World Eater (Mythic Hydra)
* Five gods which adhere to the color wheel: Helliod (white), Erebos (black), Nylea is the goddess of the hunt (green), Thassa is the goddess of the Sea (blue, and a Merfolk)
* Three new mechanics. One for the Heroes, Monsters, and Gods. Five total mechanics in Theros. Including something people have been asking for.
* Three Planeswalkers; one of which is Elspeth with two new ones.
* Also Gorgons, Hydras.
* There will be a handful of gold cards but it is NOT a gold set.
* There is a Future shifted card in Theros.
* Theros is a large set, Born of the Gods is small, Journey into Nyx is small. Classic draft format.
* Story: Elspeth doesn´t want to be a hero. Elspeth does not believe she will be called on to be a leader in a world of gods. Gods can take multiple forms and walk among mortals.
* Gods live in Nyx. Nyx is the night sky, and home of the gods.
* Nyx moves around each night.
* Three major walled cities. Meletis, Akris, Setessa. Major cities in Theros are inspired by Athens and Sparta.
* Theros is a very dangerous land outside of the cities. Elspeth will fight a Hydra. And attracts attention of Helliod.
* Prerelease activities: a "Heroes´ Path" challenge for Theros that will continue throughout the whole block. Complete the nine quests on the Hero´s Path to earn Hero cards to use at Game Day.
* Both "Born of the Gods" and "Journey into Nyx" will feature similar Pre-Release, Release, and Game Day events.
* Theros will have pre-release packs, similar to the Return to Ravnica block guild packs! You will pick your color, and receive a pre-release pack of that color.
Heroes´ Path Challenge:
* Step 1 is "Choose a Path". You´ll earn special types of cards called "Hero Cards". A Hero Card acts like a Vanguard card. You get these at your Pre-Release.
* Step 2 is at the Release weekend. You get a second chance at Hero cards.
* Step 3 is called "Face the Hydra", happening during Game Day. Play against a Challenge Deck with special backs and special cards using the Hero Cards you got on Pre-release/Release days.
Other News:
* Plans for reverse redemption onto Magic Online in the works. Will likely be tied to pre-constructed decks first, as opposed to booster boxes and fat packs.
* New goal moving forward for Standard: Have competitive decks feature cards from all Standard-legal sets.
* Wizards sees growing competition from other online trading card games, such as Hearthstone and SolForge, and are looking to greatly improve Magic Online to stay competitive.
* Getting new players into Magic is very hard, because Magic is a hard game. Wizards wants experienced players to teach new players, as this is the best way to get new players into Magic.
* Wizards is currently considering the possibility of releasing Art Coffeebooks featuring art from Magic cards.
Kallikantzaros, €streito.
